Berry Mornings

Writer's picture: thefitstitchthefitstitch

An oats bowl that will make you smile! This 5 minute breakfast bowl is full of flavour and texture. Made with oats, frozen berries and nut butter will be your go to breakfast for those fast paced mornings.

I love adding a splash of milk after serving for a refreshing and creamy breakfast.

Berry Mornings

Serves: 2-3

Prep Time: 5 min

Cooking Time: 5-7 minutes

Ingredients

  • 1 Cup raw oats

  • 2 Cups Water

  • 1 Cup of oats milk

  • 1 tsp Vanilla extract

  • 1 tsp Cinnamon powder

  • 1 Cup frozen berries

  • 1-2 Tbsp Maple syrup

  • 1-2 Tbsp Nut butter or coconut yogurt to top.

Method

  1. Bring a pot to high heat, add oats and water and bring to a boil, lower heat to simmer and cook for 4 min.

  2. Once oats has cooked and thickened up add vanilla, cinnamon and oats milk and cook for 1-2 more minutes.

  3. To make the berry compote add frozen berries to a pan with a splash of water and cook for 3 min.

  4. Add maple syrup and cook until berries burst. Gently smash with a fork. Transfer oats to a bowl too with berry compote, nut butter & coconut yogurt.
