Making caramel is easier than one would think it just requires a bit of patience since leaving it unattended for very few min can be a great catastrophe. So if you make this recipe make sure you have enough time to keep a close eye on it!
Crunchy Caramel Apples & Pears
Serves: 5-6

Ingredients
5 Apples or pears
1 Cup Coconut or brown sugar
1 tsp Apple cider vinegar
1 Tbsp maple or agave syrup
1/3 Cup Crushed pistachios or walnuts (optional).
Method
Wash your apples or pears and pat dry. Insert skewers sticks in the middle of each apple and pear and set aside.
Prepare caramel by bringing a pot to medium heat. Add water and sugar and mix until sugar dissolves.Add maple syrup and apple cider vinegar and continue to mix for 1 min. Bring mixture to boil and then reduce to simmer and cook for 10-15 min mixing every few minutes.
Dip apple and pears on caramel removing any caramel excess and roll in crushed nuts. Let cool down for 5 min to let the caramel become crunchy.
